Google Analytics

I'm creating a web page for my station (away from the IR website and station start page) The web page contains an embedded Flash player for my stream as well as playlist options for streaming in all the major audio players.

- If listeners access my station away from the IR website, will this affect my Google analytics/ reports?

- What event is required to register a listener? Are listener numbers (and track performances) based on how many times the stream/ port is accessed, or how many times a playlist file is downloaded, or how many times my start page is loaded, etc?

I'm using the following track event code in my web page:

<a title="Play in Windows Media Player" onClick="_gaq.push(['_trackEvent', 'TuneIn', 'Play - M3U', 'http://[server]:[port]/listen.pls']);" href="http://servers.internet-radio.com/tools/playlistgenerator/?u=http://[server]:[port]/listen.pls&amp;t=.m3u">

Is this sufficient for my IR reports/ analytics or am I better off using my IR start page?

Thanks.

If a listener tunes into your stream from your own websites player, this will still be reflected in your servers control panel stats.

Yes, the listener stats in the control panel are based upon on how many times the stream is accessed (be it through the startpage, the tune in links or even an embedded flash player on your site) and how long for etc.

Also, in your control panel under the section 'Quick Links' you will find a PDF user guide for the control panel which may also be of some use to you. Sections 4 and 5 will be particularly helpful to you in regards to listeners and the stats.

If the stream is accessed via smart phone apps are these also included in report stats?

Thanks. Will have a look at this.

Hi. I know this is an old thread but I'll try anyway. So if I connect our radio station to TuneIn, I will still get my numbers in Analytics from listeners using TuneIn?
