How can I control who can listen my station

Hi all,

I just started a radio station having a specific project in mind.
I have some questions for all you out there which are much more experienced on running internet radio stations...

1. I don't want my station to be listed in any directory, is that possible?

2. I want to block people listening my station from any stand alone player (only from a web-browser), is that possible?

3. How could I allow my station to be played from specific listener's IP only, which I will configure?

4. How can I limit the number of listeners without having to keep contacting the support guys (in case I want to change it anytime) ?

Any help/info on the above would be very appreciated!

Regards

Hi there.

1) You can set your server to private in your encoder settings.

2) If you had a Shoutcast server then IP's can be kicked / banned from the admin login.

3) If you had a Shoutcast server (you have Icecast) the admin login area would allow only certain IP's to be listed.

4) We are afraid this is something that we can only do ourselves for you.

Hope this helps. 8)

Great, excellent reply...

I'll probably get one Shoutcast server too, to work out the differences!!

Thank you for the quick reply!

Encoder as in player?
I'm using iTunes on Mac, Windows Media Player on Windows...

But I might do no know what player the listeners will have...

Is any way to block my station appearing in any radio lists?

Thank you
