More descriptive help for new user?

Hello everybody, I'm a 100% fresh-faced user on InternetRadio, and I'll just go ahead and say that I love this MUCH more than my current service. But being a long time user of Radionomy, (which looks like it's sinking faster than the Titanic), I'm trying to adjust to this newer version of online radio.

Now I'll just tell you upfront that I do have Winmap with Shoutcast v2.3.4, and I've filled out the server address and port info, etc. But from there I'm a bit confused. I've signed up for the 7-day trial, and I'm willing to pay monthly fees/for the music license in the near future, but I guess what I'm asking is where I upload the music once that's finished, and maybe what I should expect differently from the traditional Radionomy service. I'm getting pointers from a fellow station owner here, and I like how InternetRadio is more connected to it's users. But before I take the plunge here, what can you tell me to expect with this kind of radio as opposed to my current Radionomy one? Thanks :)

Hi AllFallout,

Firstly welcome. :) We are really pleased to hear that you are enjoying using our services instead. That's good to know!

All of our server plans come with storage space for uploading your files for the AutoDJ feature. We do have a guide for setting up the AutoDJ feature, uploading your files and creating playlists here: http://www.internet-radio.com/commu...dj-and-file-manager-in-centova-cast-v3.15032/

You will not require Winamp for this though, but you can always stream live to our servers with Winamp with the Shourcast DSP plugin. We have some guides for Shoutcast v2 here: http://www.internet-radio.com/community/forums/shoutcast2/

As far as we are aware with Radionomy they provide a large library of music (as well as the uploading of your own tracks) for you to create playlists from, where as we do not provide any music. You need to create your playlists with your own content that you have uploaded to our servers with us here. Essentially creating the automated playlists and scheduling these will still be fairly similar we imagine, we just have a different user interface that's all. Also, stations that are listed in our popular internet radio directory receive over 4,000,000 tune ins every month. All radio stations hosted with us on one of our servers are featured in the directory which therefore provides more listeners than with some other hosting companies.

We hope that this helps. Please let us know if you require any further help or have any questions. Thank you.

Hey thanks for getting back to me :) And it looks like I have everything on my end to make my station, though I saw you said Winmap wasn't required, but I have it and all my music on it, which consists of a little more than 400. How would I link my Winmap/shoutcast plugin to your services once I'm all set? I THINK I've caught on with the system, I just want to make sure I've got it all right.

No problem at all :)

We have a guide for streaming to our servers with the Shoutcast DSP Plugin here: http://www.internet-radio.com/community/threads/configuring-shoutcast-dsp.14/
Hey, I checked out the link and most of this seems to apply with my shoutcast plugin, but I don't seem to have the Output < Connection options for my plugin, it may be newer than the one you have pictured. Mine is copyrighted 2014.
But everything else is filled out already, and each time I click "Connect", I get this back and forth "Reconnecting" "Connecting" status. Can this be helped??

Yes that guide is quite a few years old now and does really need updating.

Make sure you leave the "User ID" section blank, you do not need to enter anything there.

If you continue to have problems connecting, please drop us a screenshot of your settings via email (http://www.internet-radio.com/contact/) so that we can check these over for you.

Hey I sent a detailed description of my problem to them, but sending an image doesn't seem possible there. Can I send one here?
