Logistics of Live Internet Radio.

Hello all,

I'm on the verge of upgrading my entire radio setup, and want to be prepared for the eventuality of producing live radio programmes, but I cannot work out in my head how to do this so there is a seamless transmission between the playout system and live presenter?

My current setup is ZaraRadio running within VirtualBox) with Edcast streaming to Centova Cast on CentOS 6 (the host system), then out to the Internet.

I assume I would need to switch the input to Edcast from the sound card that takes the output from ZaraRadio, to the soundcard in the P.C. that my mixer will eventually be connected to, but in doing this, surely there will be a fairly 'blunt' interruption of service during the switch-over of Edcast?

What am I missing?

Thanks for your help.
