Frequent breaks in receiving streaming radio

I am facing constant breaks in the internet radio streams(Windows Media Internet Radio, Skyfm). The streaming breaks every minute at times and restarts in a few seconds.

I have a 2 MBPS broadband connection and I am able to browse most sites quite fast.My Sony laptop runs on Windows 7 op system.
What could be the problem?

Your internet connection is definitely fast enough but it could be unreliable as there might be 'packet loss' which can cause these breaks. Firstly try resetting your router and make sure there are no other programs (like torrents etc..) running in the background on your network.

If all else fails try a different radio stream. Internet Radio requires a clear reliable internet connection otherwise you might get these issues.
