these are produced by an English chap so many are scaled for either BBC / UK radio analogue desks or EBU scale but you can get digital scales as well.

Most are free but the big "wide range level meter" is worth the €15.

if you have the studio space it is worth dedicating an entire computer and screen to this need not be a top of the range one, I use a 2006 era machine - a cheap Behringer soundcard can be used for the monitor input. This PC might also be able to handle things like jingle playout and even the streaming.

I did have a ME12 emulation on the screen but have since switched to a wide range one set as EBU digital "eurometer" from -60 dBFS to 0 dBFS. If you like trance and watch the youtubes of Armin Van Buuren and others doing live shows for Radio 538 you can see these meters in use if you look carefully

if there is a "hackspace" in your town or shop selling second hand computer equipment you should be able to pick up a cheap PC and LCD monitor for way less than a real PPM meter bridge costs..
