Now Playing from external source

Is it possible to get the now playing information from another source say myurl.com/onair.txt?

My automation software uploads track information via ftp to my web hosting but I want to get this into the stream for users on iTunes etc.

Not usually no. The server usually gets its now playing info from the encoder where you set your 'now playing', 'stream title', 'genres' etc.. information. You should try and get the info in there if you can by setting up the encoder with the info.
