Setting up the Auto DJ (Centova Cast v2)

I found if confusing to start with and it didn't work so I took another look through the instructions and noticed that it wasn't really explained right. So I changed a few settings to what else it would be and it worked!! I can make a few edits and upload the altered files if needed, could make it less complicated for customers?

Can someone help me with the auto dj script please? I was trying to pm hoddzDJ but it seems you cant pm over this forum. Ive put the password in and everything but im just stuck on what to put here

I understand that on the bottom bit here $centovacast_url = 'http://hostname of the server your on!'; i put the address of the bit i login where i can control auto dj and view current listeners and all that. But im not too sure what address i put in the top section.

Any help much appreciated

Yeah I must admit the non-PM is a bit annoying, and frustrates the hell out of me sometimes, cos not everyone will subscribe to the topic and when you want them to now urgently it's the best way as they would get an email as well!! That said, I'm glad to hear you have sorted the problem out fella, and glad that you are having fun with the Auto DJ too!!

I am planning to add more features to my very own Auto DJ Control Panel, that will run inside the 'Start/Stop' page aswell (skip track feature is the main one) but more on that when it's getting built and when real progress is made!!

Just to clarify as far as I know we automatically subscribe users to any threads they participate in. A weekly email is sent out informing of updates.

Right as you know i installed the autodj script last week and it worked fine. But for some reason now it says auto dj is turned off but the shoutcast page doesnt say server down so people cant connect?? Even if i go into the centova cast pannel it says that the autodj isnt it but it still is connected in some way. I did have a fallback file with a jingle connected for when the djs swop over the listeners dont get dead sound. Do you think maybe that was interferring? I've took it off now just to see.
Any help much appreciated.

Hi Guys,

Not sure if this ones been answered already. When we go live the software we use crossfades tracks, has silence detector...etc. But I've noticed when Auto Dj is enabled it does not do this.

Is it possible to do or is it down to us? If you can advise or point us in the right direction we would appricate it.

Hi hustlergraham. Cross-fading and silence detection are very CPU intensive tasks that we cannot offer otherwise the servers would grind to a halt. It would be fine for one or two servers on a machine but when you start multiplying it up it would degrade the performance for the other users.
