If you're a fan of mostly minor charters, then you may want to check out my monthly show called The American Bottom 45. We pick out a certain week from yesteryear and count down the "bottom 45s" all the way from 100 to 41; bonuses include a bubbler, "Gil's Choice(one of the top 40 entries that oldies radio these days could care less about)," and a couple of retro commercials and/or TV show themes. The show is hosted by yours truly, DJ Gilbert Matthews.
This month, we are looking back at the chart for February 28, 1981. Feel free to tune in on Sunday, February 24th at 4 PM eastern to hear it; repeat airings will occur on Tuesday the 26th at 1 PM eastern and Thursday the 28th at 11 AM eastern. Next month, we will showcase a chart from March 1973.
If you dig heaping spoonfuls of seldom-heard oldies from 1950 through 1989 with a dash of top 40 classics to keep you from scratching your head too much, then you will probably want to stick around after the show is over for the regular programming of The Retro Attic - 50s To 80s Rare Oldies. Requests are also accepted and we also have a featured Artist Of The Month, which in March will be The Hollies.
