Video streaming Radio Station

Has anyone undertaken additional video streaming of events/slots, i know its at odds with the definition of radio, but i ask this as the main crux of the project is internet radio with a very limited number of video slots.
I am looking for very cost effective recommendation as opposed to someone just googling the option, which obviously i have already done.

Yes we have done it before with Shoutcast using the NSV format. In all honesty it was a bit of a pain because we couldn't find a decent flash player that supported it at the time so tune-in options were limited to Winamp (PC only) and VLC (multi platform).
