It's time for a new episode of my favorite show... Boppin' With Beth! This week, American singer-songwriter and pianist Norah Jones is the "Focus Beam" artist. You'll hear about her incredible career along with a couple of tracks from her catalog as well as artist's she's been influenced by including Neil Young, Patsy Cline, Nina Simone, Billie Holiday, Tom Waits, Ray Charles, Dolly Parton and Dinah Washington. This is such a cool new episode of Boppin' With Beth this week that you don't want to miss! The late, great John Bonham, one of the greatest and most influential rock drummers in history, is the "focus beam" artist on this week. Hear tunes from artists he liked including The Spinners, Four Tops, Peter Green, Graham Bond Organisation, Buddy Rich and Max Roach. You'll hear all about his story as well as a tune from his band Led Zeppelin and a track John did with Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones featuring David Sutch. John's little sister Deborah Bonham is the guest for Beth's Lightning Round and there's a cover of a Ron Davies written tune, originally recorded by David Bowie, from Deborah's band with her husband (Peter Bullick), Bonham-Bullick too! Get ready for another rockin' episode of Boppin' With Beth!! Canadian rock supergroup Alias is the "focus beam" band this week. Hear about their beginnings in the band Sheriff and then adding members of Heart to form Alias. There's music from all of them, a solo tune and songs from some of their influences including Foreigner, Bob Dylan and The Doobie Brothers. Toque does a cover of a Sheriff classic and Beth's Lightning Round returns with Rick Ventura of Riot Act along with one of their songs.
