Random Track during a Scheduled Show?

Wondering why a random track from another playlist would play in the middle of a scheduled show - thereby disrupting the intended flow of the music mix.. When the random track played, it didn't display the track title or the playlist title...

Hi Chris,

That should not happen!

Which scheduled playlist are you referring to so we can take a look? And do you recognise this random track without seeing the title/artist info so we can see where this track coming from?

Whatever this track is it clearly has not been encoded properly and it is missing it's meta-data tags if it is not showing any title information.

The Track in question is Heroes by The Wallflowers - from the 'Chronological' Playlist - It played at 4am - during a scheduled sequential order 3am to 5am show. That track plays when it supposed to in it's own playlist, and does show the artist and title.

Okay thanks, we are not quite sure why that happened to be really honest. It could be that the AutoDJ was unable to play one of the files from your 3AM playlist and therefore played the track from your Chronological (general rotation) playlist (which has a weight of 20) as a kind of back up? Although normally if the AutoDJ is unable to play a particular file it should just proceed to the next track from the same playlist.

One thing I have noticed though with your uploaded files is that they are all of varying different bitrates. Ideally these should all be encoded at the same bitrate as per your AutoDJ features configuration of 128kbps. Although the AutoDJ does re-encode these files on the fly, you should really upload them to begin with at a matching bitrate (128kbps) and sample rate (44100hz) as any inconsistencies on the file change overs can sometimes cause some playback issues with the feature!

That makes sense, although it did play the next track in the 3am Playlist after it played the random track. It could be the encoding as you describe. I removed the track that played after the random one and all went well this morning.. Thank You!

No problem. Well we are pleased it seems okay now. It may just have been some random glitch, it is a bit hard to say for sure!
