Running a test stream now on RollinRadio using an external mixer and edcast on vista
running fine only difference is i have a shoutcast server !

Check you got the right server type in the little box selected
Vista does support joint stereo make sure you have the 2 in the box (2 meaning 2 channels left & right )

We could set you up a ShoutCast server but you would have the same problem. It appears you are streaming in MP3 but there is some kind of configuration issue. Have you checked the 'Input' tab on the encoder to make sure its encoding from your MP3 playlist instead of your mic or line in port ?

Which encoder are you using and what settings are you using (obviously don't mention your password ;) ) ?

This does sound like the problem. This all depends on what you want to broadcast. I presume you want to broadcast your winamp playlist ? In this case there should be an option other than soundcard / mic / line in. If you do want to stream from an external source (like the mic / line in) then you would select that option/.

Hey angel thanks again I can't find the edcast folder where would it b i am now on xp lol

Edcast usually installs into C:\Program Files\Edcast or something like that. If you want to use Edcast the Lame encoder DLL goes in there.

Don't work, I have literally used days trying to make it work so my bf could play..

ended up buying him an old pc with xp and that works..

Not sure if it can have something to do with the computers soundcard too?

Lame !

Hi - if you just want to play a playlist or audio from your internal soundcard try virtual dj has built in encoders for shoutcast and icecast - really simple to set up.

Alternatly if you want more advanced options try sam broadcaster.

Virtual dj has two virtual decks with effects and mixing options all from the one program.

I would recomend you try this until you can get edcast working.

you would only need edcast if you plan on streaming audio from an external source anyway.

Check your mixer settings on vista - could be something really simple like your mute button on.

VIRTUAL DJ SOFTWARE - MP3 Mixing Software should be a free demo on here somewhere or try a torrent site maybe get a craked one !

Not sure why you are having a problem with vista - i have tried all the above programs and encoders dont have a problem.
Changing to a pc with xp i think is a bit much - try the simple things first.

Re-install your soundcard drivers - could be a problem here - vista will detect when a line in or mic is plugged in - send me the laptop details and i will find a download for you.

If you not getting an option in edcast to chabge line or mic problem could be your soundcard drivers.

Think you're right in that.. I have vista on both laptop and desktop and they both have same soundcards..

The drivers are however updated..
