create symbolic links to external server

Hi DolbyNR The FAQ you linked to is for Centovacast version 2. We run the latest Centovacast version 3. Either way I don't think it helps you do what you want. Have you looked at setting up a DJ account for each user. This has the option for a private ftp folder for each DJ linked to the auto...

Unable to access account for xxxx: Cluster host connection failure for uk1: Connection timed out (

Apologies for the issue. We've received the following message from our provider : We have no idea why the uk1 server is being targeted by a DoS attack but we've asked for it to be re-assessed so the server can be brought back online ASAP. We'll keep you updated here in this thread. Apologies...

Thanks for the reply. We've moved your billing/outages related comments to our email thread. As mentioned above we request that this thread stay on topic of genre count. We're sorry to hear you didn't receive the email. It's odd because plenty did as it provoked the above discussion and more...

Genres and the quality of the directory listings

Hi Rob We're sorry you feel this way but we want to assure you that our aim isn't foul play, "gimmicks" or "loopholes". We'll address your points below : We sent an email out to all stations who used more than 6 genres inviting them to this thread as you can see from the posts above. We then...

    Stream Offline?

Hi Tom Apologies for the issue. Some packet loss at the Dallas data centre caused the error you were seeing. The Icecast server itself was still online but the Centova cast control panel was inaccessible for us1 users. We have reset the us1 control daemon and its now working fine. Its likely...

I am new here, general advide for automation please

OK then if its recommended. I should point out we haven't actually run airtime ourselves as we have a built in "autodj" scheduler in our centova cast control panels. Airtime looks like it should do what you want though. I would agree that if they recommend Ubuntu go with that. The raspberry Pi...

I am new here, general advide for automation please

I would go with Raspbian myself although there shouldn't be too much difference. I'm not sure on the specifics of how airtime switches between live and scheduled music. An icecast server would allow a seamless transfer between the two by way of fallback mounts. You can look these up in the...

Hi Ben You could try AirTime : https://www.sourcefabric.org/en/airtime/ The Pi 3 should be able to handle it. Good luck :)

We can remove them for you if you are sure ? It seems a shame not to let your listeners interact because of a few bad apples. Marking the messages as spam should remove the message for all.

How to track Web Proxy listeners?

Interesting. I see all the options on your site and its the following link which causes the "45.79.186.124 / Web-based (Flash) Player" to appear in the Live Listener Report. <audio id="audio-player" src="http://45.79.186.124/proxy/tobieapb?mp=/;" controls="controls" type="audio/mpeg"...

How to track Web Proxy listeners?

Sorry for the delay. I have fixed the permissions issue on your logs and they are downloadable now. There's an odd bug in centova which occasionally causes this. That's odd that you see all web proxy listeners as 45.79.186.124 because when we tune in via the web proxy (using VLC) we see it as...

Thanks for all the feedback. There seems to be a consensus that 5 would be a good limit to implement. We'll post back here once any decisions or changes have been made.

Genres and the quality of the directory listings

Thanks for the feedback. The next question would be how many genres is enough ? i.e. What should the maximum be ? Shoutcast.com seem to only allow 1 genre which I think is probably too little. But what about say... 3? or 5?

Genres and the quality of the directory listings

That could be an option but we would be concerned it would take too much time to run. It would be better if we could have a more automatic method that didn't require any intervention by a moderator. Something like a ratings system would help with this as stations that get "upvoted" or "liked"...

Genres and the quality of the directory listings

Thanks hender. Limiting the amount of genres we recognise is probably the easiest "fix" we could implement and we are certainly considering it. We are going to try and gather some more feedback to see what other people think too. Ratings and sorting systems would be something we would need to...
